I have been back from Mexico for over 6 months and all I want is octopus ceviche. I have been craving it since it wasn’t available to eat every day. What’s interesting is that the night we arrived, we made it to a waterfront restaurant where I put my feet into the cool sand and ordered octopus ceviche like it was always available.
I guess that’s because I will often order any available octopus dish when out dining. And often I am disappointed with how overcooked it is. I’d never had it ceviche-style before Isla Mujeres and now I can’t get over it.
Mininos became a staple throughout our stay for the octopus ceviche and the wonderful staff. They started to recognize us and if we were local, I’d be there all the time.
For now I will attempt to whip up something for dinner and try to stop dreaming of octopus ceviche.
May your journey be your muse,
Rachel

Ahhhh ceviche! My husband and I are planning a 2013 trip for Q-roo and ceviche is something I will be seeking daily. I’ve never been to Isla Mujeres. We will be heading for the southern-most beaches around Tulum. (Also, I have this aching fascination with Coba.)
I’ll be reading all your back-blog posts about Quintana Roo this weekend!

“Earth to Rachel”…”Hello, Rachel?” I’m here, Angie! Thanks for your comment and apologies for my massive delay in posting. Have you been to Q-roo yet this year? We couldn’t resist another trip and are headed there in May! I’ve already started packing. We’re going back to Isla Mujeres, but I hope to visit Tulum someday soon.
