I started to notice a pattern in my film photographs from this last trip to Isla Mujeres. There were two times a day when the photos were completely saturated in a blue hue. Sunset and around 10am in the morning.
I remember taking the photo above after I set down my towel and beach bag on the bed I would retreat to, after a swim in the beautiful turquoise sea.
I must have taken this one afterward because this is the view to the left.
And the view to the right.
Yeah, no wonder I just want to go back! There is this beautiful blue magic hour on Playa Norte in the morning.
It was even strong near El Centro.
The sunset was magical too.
I used 100 speed cross process film for this set. The images always come out with super saturated colors when I use this particular film – which is why I love it.
I have to be careful using it in low light without a flash. It usually doesn’t turn out well unless I’m using an LC-A+.
This is my public plea to Lomography to make their 100 speed xpro film again! Why has it been out of stock for so long? I’ve been stockpiling it and I’m down to my last roll. 🙁
May your journey be your muse,
Rachel

Yes! Lomography, please bring it back. We need this beautiful film! And while we’re talking about your lovely slide film, how about bringing back the short-lived Sunset Strip Xpro?

Yes! Please bring back the x-pro 100. You could do a pre sale and we would happily pay ahead. I’d buy a bunch. I love how saturated and bright the colors are but they are also so much more crisp. I haven’t found another film like it. To the point that I’m actually shooting more digital. Don’t make all my lomo cameras sad and lonely! Bring it back, please!!!!

When I go to my film stash and I see more color negative film than slide film, I get real bummed. Help us out, Lomography!

It’s really a one of a kind! I would definitely buy in a pre-sale. 100 xpro chrome, x tungsten, and the 50-100 extended range redscale are among my favorite films of all time. I can’t believe the xpro chome is gone…it would also be awesome to have seen it in 120 format!

Meggie, I always wanted to try it in 120 format!
