Our last morning on Isla Mujeres we set the alarm for 5am, so we could have the beach to ourselves and watch the sunrise.
It was wonderful to catch a breeze just after my shower, before the sun had a chance to fill the sky. I made fresh footprints in the sand.
I brought a fun 35mm film camera called a LomoKino with me.
It’s essentially a 35mm movie camera. When you get these rolls processed, your images are turned into short films. Each roll is under a minute long, so it can get pricey if you are trying to make a feature film.
You may have seen my post on White Sands National Monument, where I shot a music video for my band, All in the Golden Afternoon, using the LomoKino.
I’ve been daydreaming about Isla Mujeres all weekend. I’ve never been to a place that made me not mind sweating. I’ve figured out how to experience the island so I don’t lose my mind in the heat and I can’t wait to go back.
What destination are you daydreaming about? I would love to hear about it in the comment section below!
May your journey be your muse,
Rachel
