I love taking photographs. If you’ve ever traveled with me, you know I travel with multiple cameras.
One of the ways I take this a step further is by taking multiple exposures.
Many digital cameras these days offer this as an option. I really enjoy the risk of doing it with film, because you have no idea what the results will be until the film is developed.
I usually don’t plan when I’m going to take a double or triple exposure, I just feel it out in the moment.
I like to take portraits of my friends. This is Ross and Jodi. I took a photo of a tree nearby, then turned my camera toward them.
Iconic structures are photographed so often that I like to obtain some sort of abstract vision of what I’m seeing, in addition to my “normal” photograph.
This is another one of Josh and Yvonne, where if you look closely, Josh is only seen as a pattern in Yvonne’s sweater. Fun!
Here is a selfie I took on the ferry ride from Cancun to Isla Mujeres, Mexico. I took a photo of the clouds, then took one of us. Head in the clouds? Indeed.
The next time you are shooting with film, be bold and take a risk by shooting multiple exposures!
May your journey be your muse,
